I remember Jackie as a great classmate and teammate. He had a lot of what you would call natural atheletic talent. He could out run everyone and it looked like he didn't even have to try hard. I remember letting him down our senior year, when we had a very good 440 relay team. We felt that we would be able to win the regional meet easily and should be able to do well at the state finals. All that was lost when I dropped the baton on the first handoff at the regional meet. I know he was disappointed , but he never showed any anger or disappointment toward me. I truly respected him for the attitude he took.
I know that he attended most of the class reunions and he will surely be missed at this 50th one.

Jackie is greatly missed by his family, friends, and community. I know that he is here today in spirit, because he wouldn't miss this day for anything.
